The 17th São Paulo International Short Film Festival will be held between August 24th and September 2nd, 2006.
It is the leading event for short films in Latin-America and a very special meeting place where filmmakers can exchange esthetics, political and economic experiences related to shorts.
Bringing an expressive selection of films in the international program, a showcase of Latin American shorts and the largest annual display for the Brazilian production, the event attracted approximately 28.000 spectators in 2005.
The festival counts with special programs that bring the short branches into a diversity of forms, including retrospectives, tributes, and also recent digital films made in the outskirts of big cities around Brazil.
